the 2 cabinets above the stove and the small seperater wall will all go and the stove will become a counter top.
the black whole will have a door front to match the cabinets.
now i have to look for 24 inch stools!

I like the salmon color and texture. I wouldn't worry too much about long term appeal if you're using less expensive materials. I think the next owner will want to customize it if it's showing any wear at all. If it survives the next 8 years and the next owner loves it - no problem. But unless you're going to spend more to make it durable, then it's really just for your own enjoyment, so have fun. My opinion. Salmon and green tones might look fun - watermelon theme. Or Salmons and browns and tan colors together. There's alot you can do starting with salmon color.
